Dave Kovar’s Saturn 5 – Boy Scout/Cub Scout Launch Video With Gene Kranz – May 17, 2014

Some video from our Forest Park Central Field launch demo of Dave Kovar's Saturn 5 model with scale launch tower. Some interesting remarks from Gene Kranz about launch Saturn V's and landing on the moon during Apollo 11.  Gene also had some remarks about engine out on the Saturn 5 2nd stage that is quite interesting.

The video is at this link.

Last Picture of Gene Kranz Before He Left For Texas on Saturday

Dave Kovar presented Gene with an SLRA hat and Carmelo Turdo from The Aero Experience https://www.facebook.com/TheAeroExperience and http://aeroexperience.blogspot.com/ got a picture of Heino Pull, Dave Kovar, and Gene in front of the St. Louis Science Center Planetarium. It was a great four days having Gene Kranz in St. Louis. Thanks Dave for organizing the visit and events!

Some Rough Cut Video from Tonights STEM Event and Dinner With Marta and Gene Kranz

For those members who couldn't attend tonight, an 8 minute video that I shot and did a very rough cut. Dave Kovar's remarks, the mission vest ceremony and a short story from Gene about mission vests. More video to  come and I plan to film the launch events on Friday and Saturday. Thanks to Dave Kovar for the great job organizing the event. Gene Kranz is a personal hero of mine and it is surreal to spend some time in the same room with him. Look for Lowell Grissom - brother of Gus Grissom (Gemini and Apollo 1 astronaut) and the owner of the Moonrise.  The Moonrise was a perfect venue for the event and there is quite a bit of memorabilia in the lobby. Much work to due on Friday and Saturday for the launches.
