SUMMARY:Summer Park Launches @ Buder Park
DESCRIPTION:SLRA will hold a monthly model rocket launch at Buder Park from
April through September. Come out and fly those rockets you've been build
ing all winter! Spectators are also welcome\, but are not allowed to appro
ach the launch pads.\n\nThe exact location of the launch pads will depend
on which way the wind is blowing and what parts of the park are already in
use when we get there. Please drive around the perimeter road until you s
ee the launch rack (it looks like a big sawhorse).\n\nAnyone who is a curr
ent\, paid member of the National Association of Rocketry or Tripoli Rocke
try Association is welcome to participate. Due to insurance regulations\,
those who are not a member of one of the two national organizations will n
eed to have a NAR or Tripoli member inspect and fly their rockets for them
. Non-members will also be asked to sign a liability release. If you wish
to fly your own rockets\, please be prepared to show your NAR or Tripoli m
embership card\, or a receipt of payment if you are a new member who has n
ot yet received a card.\n\nPlease note that these launches may be cancelle
d for a number of reasons\, notably: weather conditions (rain\, high wind)
\, park conditions (mud\, flooding)\, or scheduling conflicts (another gro
up's use of the park makes it impossible to safely launch\, or not enough
SLRA members are available to run the launch). Please check the "current l
aunch status" on the front page of our website\, http://dmortproductions.c
om/stlrocketry\, before making your way to the park. Also\, the number of
people in attendance has a bearing on how long the range stays open\; if y
ou plan to arrive after 11:00 am\, please call ahead (314-630-7619) to mak
e sure we're still flying. We will continue to fly rockets past noon if th
e weather is good\, our battery holds out\, and people still have rockets
to fly.\n\nBuder Park launches are conducted under the NAR safety code as
"Class 1" rocket launches. Class 1 launches carry the following restrictio
ns:\n\n Rockets must weigh less than 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) at liftof
f\, including propellant.\n Rockets must contain no more than 125 grams (
4.4 ounces) of propellant - this includes most motors up through G class (
although see the note below regarding high-altitude launches). Only certif
ied\, commercial motors are allowed.\n Rockets must be made of wood\, pap
er\, or breakable plastic\, and contain no substantial metal parts.\n Roc
kets must employ a recovery system such as a parachute\, streamer\, helico
pter\, glide\, tumble or featherweight recovery\n\nDecisions of the LCO (l
aunch control officer) and RSO (range safety officer) are final with respe
ct to these restrictions and safety in general. Our goal is safety for eve
ryone involved.\n\nThe total size of Buder Park is approximately 2100 x 12
00 feet\, which according to the Model Rocket Safety Code is large enough
to fly a G motor rocket. However\, please keep in mind that we are usually
not the only users of the park on a Saturday - we share it with radio con
trol aircraft flyers\, archers\, sports teams\, joggers\, and many others.
Also\, the perimeter of the park is lined with very tall trees\, and just
beyond the north treeline you will find the Meramec River. Have some idea
of how high your rocket is expected to go before you launch\, keep the wi
nd conditions in mind\, and use common sense. Experienced SLRA members wil
l be happy to advise you to make sure your rocket is safe and likely to be
recoverable.\n\nFinally\, please remember to take adequate precautions in
hot weather - use sunscreen and bring water or sports drinks to stay hydr
ated. One nice thing about Buder Park is that there is plenty of shade aro
und the edges of the field\, so please take shelter from the sun when you
 need to.

Class 1 launches carry the following restrictio
ns:\n\n\n	Rockets must weigh less than 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) at lifto
ff\, including propellant.\n	Rockets must contain no more than 125 grams (
4.4 ounces) of propellant - this includes most motors up through G class (
although see the note below regarding high-altitude launches). Only certif
ied\, commercial motors are allowed.\n	Rockets must be made of wood\, pape
r\, or breakable plastic\, and contain no substantial metal parts.\n	Rocke
ts must employ a recovery system such as a parachute\, streamer\, helicopt
er\, glide\, tumble or featherweight recovery\n\n\nDecisions of the LCO (l
aunch control officer) and RSO (range safety officer) are final with respe
ct to these restrictions and safety in general.
Experienced SLRA members wil
l be happy to advise you to make sure your rocket is safe and likely to be
recoverable.\n\nFinally\, please remember to take adequate precautions in
hot weather - use sunscreen and bring water or sports drinks to stay hydr
ated. One nice thing about Buder Park is that there is plenty of shade aro
und the edges of the field\, so please take shelter from the sun when you
 need to.

SUMMARY:Model rocket launch at Buder Park
DESCRIPTION:DELAYED UNTIL 5:00pm CST!\n\nSLRA will hold an (approximately)
monthly model rocket launch at Buder Park March 28th. Spectators are welco
me\, but are not allowed to approach the launch pads.\n\nLaunch pads are u
sually set up in the southeast corner of the park\, but this may change ba
sed on wind direction and other activities nearby.\n\nAnyone who is a curr
ent\, paid member of the National Association of Rocketry or Tripoli Rocke
try Association is welcome to participate.
\, park conditions (mud\, flooding)\, or scheduling conflicts (another gro
up’s use of the park makes it impossible to safely launch\, or not enoug
h SLRA members are available to run the launch). Please check the “curre
nt launch status” on the front page of our website\, https://www.stlouis
rocketry.com\, before making your way to the park. Also\, the number of pe
ople in attendance has a bearing on how long the range stays open\; if you
plan to arrive after 11:00 am\, please call ahead (314-630-7619) to make
sure we’re still flying. We will continue to fly rockets past noon if th
e weather is good\, our battery holds out\, and people still have rockets
to fly.\n\nBuder Park launches are conducted under the NAR safety code as
“Class 1” rocket launches. Class 1 launches carry the following restri
ctions:\n\nRockets must weigh less than 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) at lift
off\, including propellant.\nRockets must contain no more than 125 grams (
4.4 ounces) of propellant – this includes most motors up through G class
(although see the note below regarding high-altitude launches). Only cert
ified\, commercial motors are allowed.\nRockets must be made of wood\, pap
er\, or breakable plastic\, and contain no substantial metal parts.\nRocke
ts must employ a recovery system such as a parachute\, streamer\, helicopt
er\, glide\, tumble or featherweight recovery\nDecisions of the LCO (launc
h control officer) and RSO (range safety officer) are final with respect t
o these restrictions and safety in general. Our goal is safety for everyon
 e involved.\n\nThe total size of Buder Park is approximately 2100 x 1200 f
eet\, which according to the Model Rocket Safety Code is large enough to f
ly a G motor rocket. However\, please keep in mind that we are usually not
the only users of the park – we share it with radio control aircraft fl
 yers\, archers\, sports teams\, joggers\, and many others. Also\, the peri
meter of the park is lined with very tall trees\, and just beyond the nort
h treeline you will find the Meramec River. Have some idea of how high you
r rocket is expected to go before you launch\, keep the wind conditions in
mind\, and use common sense. Experienced SLRA members will be happy to ad
vise you to make sure your rocket is safe and likely to be recoverable.\n\
nFinally\, please remember to take adequate precautions in hot weather –
use sunscreen and bring water or sports drinks to stay hydrated. One nice
thing about Buder Park is that there is plenty of shade around the edges
of the field\, so please take shelter from the sun when you need to.

SUMMARY:High Power Launch – Elsberry
DESCRIPTION:Range setup will begin at 8:30am and we can start flying rocket
s as soon as setup is done – so the more people that come early to help\
, the sooner we can start!\n\nThis will be a Tripoli launch held under Tri
poli Research rules\, so experimental motors are allowed for Tripoli membe
rs with the proper certification (although the RSO of course has the final
say). We will have 1/8″\, 3/16″ and 1/4″ launch rods along with 101
0 and 1515 rails. If you are launching a rocket weighing more than about 2
0 pounds and need the “monster” launch pad\, you must let us know ahea
d of time\, as we may not bring it if it’s not needed.\n\nOur FAA waiver
permits flights up to 7\,000 feet MSL (approximately 6\,500 feet AGL) wit
h call-in windows to 15\,000 MSL (14\,500 AGL). If you are planning a flig
ht over 10\,000 feet AGL\, please bring simulation results to show to the
RSO\, to avoid any risk of violating that waiver altitude. (We have a grea
t relationship with the FAA and want to keep it that way!)\n\nThere will b
e a $10 launch fee for high-power fliers. Model rocket flyers will have a
launch fee of $3\, but this fee is waived for paid SLRA members. These lau
nch fees are per family and good for however many flights you want to do.\
n\nAs always check the website for current updates on status of all launch

participate. Due to insurance regulations\, those who are not a member of
one of the two national organizations will need to have a NAR or Tripoli

of payment if you are a new member who has not yet received a card.\n\nPl
ease note that these launches may be cancelled for a number of reasons\, n
otably: weather conditions (rain\, high wind)\, park conditions (mud\, flo
oding)\, or scheduling conflicts (another group’s use of the park makes
it impossible to safely launch\, or not enough SLRA members are available
to run the launch). Please check the “current launch status” on the fr
ont page of our website\, https://www.stlouisrocketry.com\, before making
your way to the park. Also\, the number of people in attendance has a bear
ing on how long the range stays open.\n\nBuder Park launches are conducted
under the NAR safety code as “Class 1” rocket launches. Class 1 launc
hes carry the following restrictions:\n\nRockets must weigh less than 1.5
kilograms (3.3 pounds) at liftoff\, including propellant.\nRockets must co
ntain no more than 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of propellant – this includes
most motors up through G class (although see the note below regarding high
-altitude launches). Only certified\, commercial motors are allowed.\nRock
ets must be made of wood\, paper\, or breakable plastic\, and contain no s
ubstantial metal parts.\nRockets must employ a recovery system such as a p
 arachute\, streamer\, helicopter\, glide\, tumble or featherweight recover
y\nDecisions of the LCO (launch control officer) and RSO (range safety off
icer) are final with respect to these restrictions and safety in general.
Our goal is safety for everyone involved.\n\nThe total size of Buder Park
is approximately 2100 x 1200 feet\, which according to the Model Rocket Sa
fety Code is large enough to fly a G motor rocket. However\, please keep i
n mind that we are usually not the only users of the park – we share it
with radio control aircraft flyers\, archers\, sports teams\, joggers\, an
d many others. Also\, the perimeter of the park is lined with very tall tr
ees\, and just beyond the north treeline you will find the Meramec River.
Have some idea of how high your rocket is expected to go before you launch
\, keep the wind conditions in mind\, and use common sense. Experienced SL
RA members will be happy to advise you to make sure your rocket is safe an
d likely to be recoverable.\n\nFinally\, please remember to take adequate
precautions in hot weather – use sunscreen and bring water or sports dri
nks to stay hydrated. One nice thing about Buder Park is that there is ple
nty of shade around the edges of the field\, so please take shelter from t
he sun when you need to.

SUMMARY:High Power Launch – Elsberry
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nRange setup will begin at 8:30am and we can start flying
rockets as soon as setup is done – so the more people that come early to
help\, the sooner we can start!\n\nThis will be a Tripoli launch held und
er Tripoli Research rules\, so experimental motors are allowed for Tripoli
members with the proper certification (although the RSO of course has the
final say). We will have 1/8″\, 3/16″ and 1/4″ launch rods along wi
th 1010 and 1515 rails. If you are launching a rocket weighing more than a
bout 20 pounds and need the “monster” launch pad\, you must let us kno
w ahead of time\, as we may not bring it if it’s not needed.\n\nOur FAA
waiver permits flights up to 7\,000 feet MSL (approximately 6\,500 feet AG
 L) with call-in windows to 15\,000 MSL (14\,500 AGL). If you are planning
a flight over 10\,000 feet AGL\, please bring simulation results to show t
o the RSO\, to avoid any risk of violating that waiver altitude. (We have
a great relationship with the FAA and want to keep it that way!)\n\nThere
will be a $10 launch fee for high-power fliers. Model rocket flyers will h
ave a launch fee of $3\, but this fee is waived for paid SLRA members. The
se launch fees are per family and good for however many flights you want t
o do.\n\nAs always check the website for current updates on status of all
launches\n\nPlease email admin@stlouisrocketry.com if you have any questio
 ns.\n\n

SUMMARY:High Power Launch – Elsberry
DESCRIPTION:Range setup will begin at 9:00am and we can start flying rocket
s as soon as setup is done – so the more people that come early to help\
, the sooner we can start!\n\nThis will be a Tripoli launch held under Tri
poli Research rules\, so experimental motors are allowed for Tripoli membe
rs with the proper certification (although the RSO of course has the final
Model rocket flyers will have a
launch fee of $5\, but this fee is waived for paid SLRA members. These lau
nch fees are per family and good for however many flights you want to do.\
