Support for Woodbridge Middle School TARC team

Tuesday we had teacher visitors from this school. They have a TARC team and are looking for support. I am too far away to make meetings on a regular basis, Keith Vinyard too. I am looking for some one who is close enough to be able to look in on them and look over their shoulder and give them basic advice on how to build rockets. You dont need to know anything about TARC I can help remotely on that.

They have 10 kids and a $2500 grant to buy stuff. They have a good shot at launching a team.

I'm looking for a volunteer. If you want to help or discuss this send me an e-mail at jbuckley1996@gmail.com or call me at 636-734-0762. This is a great opportunity to pay it forward.

NRC competition at Buder Park

I have added an NRC launch to each weekend in June at our Buder site. In addition, I scheduled a sport launch and NRC for the weekend of June 29-30. We'll run all of these launches by our standard procedure 9am to 12PM, set up at 8. In the event of weather, we may fly on either Saturday or Sunday, but the launch will be confined to one day.

The official SLRA club launch is Sunday June 30th.

All NRC events may be flown, but we will not provide eggs, payloads or altimeters. A few eggs may be available.

Anyone who is interested in flying at the NRC launches should contact me separately at jbuckley1996@gmail.com. I will contact those interested with details.

Heavy Metal IV update, Saturday canceled but Sunday still on

Due to pending bad weather we are delaying the Heavy Metal IV sport range opening to Sunday morning at 11 AM. The range will remain open to 6PM.

The contest range will open a little earlier at 10AM, set up shortly before that. There will be no contest flights on Saturday. We will run until 6PM Sunday afternoon.

The weather includes heavy rain and high winds all day Saturday. Sunday looks to be a good day for flying though.

Joint Launch with Tripoli MO KAN (Springfield, NARAM 58 field)

I had a conversation with Gary Cole from the Springfield Club about running a joint Launch this year again (Heavy Metal IV?) Anyway, we discussed 2 possible events. First event would be a launch in May 18-19 with a NRC competition. Third Saturday is the normal monthly launch for them. The second event would be a two day Apollo 11 celebration/launch. I am not sure they want to run 2 2 day launches.

So who would be willing to travel for a two day combination contest and high power launch? I assume we have a plan to work with the SLSC on an Apollo 11 event on July 20-21.
